It’s normal to find today’s Wordle challenge more difficult than others you’ve faced. The average number of guesses required to answer today’s puzzle is 4.1, as reported by The New York Times’ artificial intelligence program WordleBot.
Thankfully, I’ve had a lot of practice and can play confidently. As a result, I have some suggestions about how to approach the game more effectively. And I have some hints for today’s puzzle that should help you out immensely.
WORDLE IS WHAT?
You’ve probably been playing Wordle for a while if you’ve found this page since you’re probably already familiar with it. It became a viral word game phenomenon in 2022 and remains popular in 2023, so even if you haven’t played it yet, you’ve probably heard of it.
How Do I Play?
The goal of the daily guessing game Wordle is to correctly identify a new five-letter word. The game gives the player six opportunities to guess the correct answer, with each guess revealing further information about the word’s letters. If the correctly predicted letter is part of the solution, it will be highlighted in green.
The letter will be highlighted in yellow if it is part of the solution but in the wrong spot. The letter will be grayed out if it is not part of the solution. The rules of the game are, on the whole, easy to understand. You may play this game on the New York Times Crossword app for iOS and Android, or on the Wordle website. The game may be downloaded at no cost.
Wordle Hints – Tip No. 1: Use Vowels
Only one of the standard vowels—A, E, I, O, and U—is included in today’s Wordle solution. It should be noted that although Y is sometimes considered a vowel, it will not be counted as one in this context.
WORDLE SUGGESTIONS (GAME #655) – CLUE #2 – THE FIRST LETTER OF THE WORD
The answer to today’s this puzzle game begins with the letter S, as far as we can tell from the material at hand. It is important to take note that the letter S appears frequently as a beginning letter in the game. It is the initial letter in 365 of the 2,309 answers that can be found on Wordle. The letter S appears almost twice as often as the next most common beginning letter, which is the letter C.
WORDLE HINTS (GAME #655) – CLUE #3 – RECURRING LETTERS
According to the data that is currently available, the answer to today’s Wordle puzzle has one letter that is repeated. There are 748 out of 2,309 Wordle responses that contain at least one repeated letter, indicating that this is not an uncommon occurrence in the game. However, it is still more likely that a Wordle response will not contain any letters that are repeated.
WORDLE SUGGESTIONS (GAME #655) – CLUE #4 – THE CONCLUSION LETTER
According to the data that is currently being utilized, the solution to today’s puzzle is the letter H. When it comes to the end of a Wordle word, the letter H shows up more often than other letters. There are 137 instances in which it serves as the final letter in a response to a Wordle puzzle. Because of this, it is the sixth most common letter to appear in that place.
WORDLE SUGGESTIONS (GAME #655) – CLUE #5 – LAST OPPORTUNITY
I am able to provide you with an additional clue for today’s puzzle game #655, should you desire one. The answer to today’s conundrum is a symbol that represents the action of “breaking.”
Wordle Hint Sheet: Here Is the Answer (Game #655)
The correct response for Wordle puzzle number 655 that you may play today is “SMASH.” There are a great number of words in the English language that is comparable to the answer provided by today’s Wordle. They merely differ by one or two letters from each other. SLASH, SWASH, STASH, AMASS, SMALL, SMACK, SHACK, SHALL, SHAPE, SHALE, SHAWL, SHADY, SHAKY, and SHANK are just a few instances of these kinds of words.
The objective of this game is for the players to determine the correct answer by eliminating some of the choices. This is one of the challenges that come with playing today’s game. The assignment is made even more difficult by the fact that the right answer contains the letter S more than once. This is due to the fact that finding repeated letters in Wordle answers that are not next to one another is not very common.
Even though the letter S seems to be repeated the seventh most frequently in the game, it is far more usual to find instances in which both repeats are present at the same time. Only 49 of the potential responses to Wordle had two Ss in them, out of a total of 2,309 possible responses. Nevertheless, out of those 49 responses, only 36 have the Ss in close proximity to one another.
It Was a Tough Match Today
Given that the repeated S in the right answer is not typically seen in different spots, today’s task becomes much more difficult. Despite the wide variety of possible clues, players have a manageable pool of about 30 to choose from, including SLATE, STARE, and SLANT.
Many players, including the author, have shown that a 3/6 score is possible with this abundance of choices. When I made my first guess in today’s game, I got a green S and A, which helped me rule out several potential solutions.
I eliminated possibilities like “shack,” “shawl,” “scald,” “slack,” “slang,” and “slash” since they all had the letters “H,” “C,” and “L” in them. Slain, Swained, and Snailed were also taken off the list.
Despite my best efforts, I was unable to formulate a new guess that omitted many crucial letters while still including the letter N. WordleBot gave me an 88 for my guess of “CHILD,” however it would have taken “PLINK” as well.
