Paige Spiranac

Paige Spiranac is a professional golfer, social media influencer, and instructor from the US. She was born on March 26, 1993. She played collegiate golf at both Arizona and San Diego State, where she helped the Aztecs win the Mountain West Conference title in 2015 and was named to the all-conference team in 2012–13 and 2013–14.

Life in Childhood and School

Paige Spiranac came into this world in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Dan, who is her father, was a star football player for the 1976 NCAA champion Pitt Panthers. Her mother, Annette, had a successful ballet career. Her elder sister Lexie ran track for Stanford University on a full athletic scholarship. Spiranac dreamed of making it to the Olympics as a gymnast while she was a child in Monument, Colorado. She gave up gymnastics after breaking both kneecaps when she was twelve years old and tried golf instead. Because of her history of anxiety and trauma, her parents decided to homeschool her. While she was a teenager, Spiranac split her time between Monument, Colorado, and Scottsdale, Arizona.

Individual Life

The athletic trainer Steven Tinoco was her husband from 2018 through 2022. Upon first meeting, when she was just starting in her golf career, they seemed to be mutually supportive. However, the reasons behind their private divorce have never been revealed to the public. As a gymnast in Monument, Colorado, Paige Spiranac shifted her focus to golf after suffering injuries.

Her parents played a pivotal role in her upbringing and always supported her dreams of being a sports star.  Her sister Alexis is also an exercise professional, and the two of them are very close. Their secret March 2022 divorce filing seemed to have no rhyme or reason. In the time after, Paige Spiranac expressed her desire to remain private about her dating life while still being open to the idea of getting married again.

Her Path into the Workforce

During her early career, Spiranac won five events while competing on the Colorado junior golf circuit. One of these events was the 2010 CWGA Junior Stroke Play. Paige Spiranac traveled around the world with the Future Collegians. She went on to become a two-time West Region Player of the Year, a first-team All-American, a top-5 college recruit, and a top-20 world junior player while playing for the club. The University of Arizona golf program gave her a scholarship.

In her 2011–2012 collegiate debut, Spiranac competed on the golf team for the Wildcats of the University of Arizona. Chicago Intercollegiate, Wildcat Invitational, and Pac-12/SEC Challenge were all events in which she competed. San Diego State was a better fit for Spiranac’s 2012–2013 season, so she transferred there for her sophomore year. She referred to the Aztecs’ first Mountain West Conference championship as “one of the absolute happiest moments of my life” when it happened at the end of her senior year.

At the Las Colinas Club in Queen Creek, Arizona, Spiranac debuted in May 2016 during the developmental phase of the Cactus Tour. Spiranac defeated Hannah O’Sullivan, the number one amateur in the world at the time, to earn her only tour victory. In June of 2016, Spiranac played golf at the Aliante Golf Club and finished 17th out of 52 players.

Walnut Creek in Mansfield, Texas, was held in July, and she came in seventh. Along with that, in July she was also qualified for the Scottish Open on the Ladies European Tour.  In the August/September event, Spiranac placed ninth at the CoBank Colorado Women’s Open. After finishing fifth at Trilogy in October 2016, Spiranac tied for third place in a three-way tie for second place at Legacy in September 2016. By season’s end, she had earned $8,010.

In August of 2016, Spiranac competed in her maiden LPGA Qualifying Tournament, but she was unsuccessful in gaining a professional playing card. In 2022, she played the joke “Notre Dame is as bad as I was playing professional golf” about the Marshall football team’s shocking win over Notre Dame.

Golf Digest and Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue has both featured Spiranac’s work. Golf Magazine, for which she contributes a column once a month, published her debut piece in their December 2018 issue. In 2017, Spiranac inked a deal with Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG) to endorse the PXG brand of golf clubs through advertisements and social media. That same year, she became a brand ambassador for 18Birdies, where she helped promote the golf app on a national level. Mizzen + Main and Philip Stein Watches are her partners. In 2021, Spiranac joined PointsBet, an international sportsbook operator, as an ambassador for the brand, an on-air personality, and a “significant” equity stakeholder. In July 2023, Spiranac launched OnlyPaige, a premium platform that offers golf lessons, livestreams, and vlogs to its subscribers. For “sexualizing women’s golf,” Spiranac has spoken about being the target of internet harassment.

In her interview for the SI Swimsuit Issue, she discussed her desire to use the magazine to combat cyberbullying and promote self-love. The LPGA Tour imposed a stricter dress code in July 2017, banning plunging necklines, short skirts, and leggings.

Outrage quickly ensued, as captured by the headline “LPGA slammed for’slut-shaming’ its players after new dress code restrictions revealed” on Fox Sports. Spiranac wrote an opinion piece for Fortune magazine expressing his reaction to the LPGA announcement. In February 2020, Spiranac and Paige Spiranac debuted their podcast, Playing-A-Round.
